Ledgestone veneer, made in Kansas
Ledge is the profile most people picture when they say stacked stone: long, low pieces with a split face, laid in tight courses so the joint almost disappears. From the street it reads as a dry-stacked ledgestone wall; up close the faces show the same fractured texture as quarried stone. It works on a full facade, a fireplace wall, a foundation band or a single accent column, and it is the profile we make and sell the most.
With twelve colors it is also our widest range. Snow and Southern Cream run light and clean, Huron, Norris Gray and Calamar sit in the grays, Charcoal and Dark Night go nearly black, and Natural Blend, Deer Ridge, Bucks Country, Natural Sliver and Tall Grass mix tan, brown and gray the way a fieldstone wall does.
Piece sizes and weight
Pieces run 3.5 to 14.5 inches long and 2 to 4.5 inches high, so a course can mix a 14-inch piece next to a 4-inch one without repeating. Weight is 5 to 8 pounds per square foot, light enough for wood-framed walls with lath and a scratch coat, no footing or ledger required.
Installing Ledge
Ledge is an adhered manufactured stone veneer and goes on like any other: a weather-resistive barrier and metal lath over framed walls, a scratch coat, then each piece is buttered with mortar and pressed to the wall. Over concrete or block, the scratch coat goes straight onto the masonry. Keep the stone at least 4 inches above grade and 2 inches above paving, use corners at every outside corner, and follow the manufactured stone veneer installation guide and your local code. Ledge is laid drystack, pieces touching, with no visible mortar joint.
How to order Ledge
Every color is its own product. Open the color, enter the wall area in square feet, and add corners in linear feet if the wall turns a corner. The order minimum is 100 square feet of flats per color; corners have no minimum and can be ordered alone. Prices are on every product page, factory-direct, with no dealer in between.
Stone is made to order in Lenexa, Kansas, and is usually ready in 2 to 4 weeks. Most customers pick up at the plant; if you cannot, we arrange freight to your address and you pay the carrier. Because every run is made for one job, orders are final sale. Order the whole wall from one run so the color stays consistent, and add 10 percent for cuts and waste.
